Only reasonable option is one of the receivers, but which one? At this point, as much as it kills me to say it, Banks roster spot makes the most sense so he could be in jeopardy. But honestly I wouldn’t mind if they just cut kareem
I don’t really think Kareem deserves a roster spot over Banks. Maybe Stallworth, but Austin would really have to step up (or—fingers crossed—one of the rooks).
But hes still not starter. More serviceable backup. Better than Hank and Paul AT THIS POINT. Paul gives away that we’ll run it if hes in, and Hank hasnt seen the field.
Hankerson sucks. He is a slightly bigger Devin Thomas with worse hands. The guy had one year, just like Thomas, and can’t even make the field on a team with Dante Stallworth. I know everyone loves a big receiver but I am going to make an early call with ’He Sucks"
He had training camp and the pre-season. A lockout shortened training camp. What year are you talking about? He hasn’t even seen regular season action, so it’s not fair to make any judgments at this point. And he couldn’t make the team because Shanahan kept eight modestly to very capable receivers on the squad. Jesus.
Hank has the fourth most receptions, fifth most yards, and third most TDs for a WR… at MIAMI, a pretty damned good WR factory. The Old Man had a heck of a career in college.
Pretty sure Irving, Wayne, Johnson and Moss were active in their rookie year. The guy can’t catch and isn’t even active on a team without wide receiver depth. If he was on the same SB winning Rams or Colts with two quality wide outs then i could see why he might not be active. I’m calling 3rd round bust. I have no concrete evidence for this admittedly and hope i am wrong but i doubt it.
and Irvin, Moss and Johnson were all top 20 picks. There are plenty of 2nd, 3rd and 4th round wideouts who aren’t active or see playing time as rookies that go on to have great careers. Also remember that Mike Shanahan is a veteranphile. Look at Helu, he has shown that he is very capable (moreso than Torain/Hightower) and he’s only played in 27% of our offensive snaps.
Nobody worry Atogwe is finding other ways to use his time (via Dan Hellie)

he seems like such an awesome dude
smutsboy1 - October 20, 2011
thats exactly what I was thinking
feel like he’s good for some laughs
travisjh86 - October 20, 2011
I'm surprised Kyle doesn't have Rex's initials tattooed on his ankle
Dammit Cerrato... - October 20, 2011
they are actually on his ass
jkitts84 - October 20, 2011
Haha
it’s funny b/c it’s TRUE

Discussing moving RT Jammal Brown to LT, Kyle Shanahan said:
So that’s that.
Kevin Ewoldt - October 20, 2011
Sheesh
My wife’s been driving for years. Doesn’t mean she’s any good at it.
I was looking forward to him moving to the left. It’s the Beck scenario. Don’t know if he’d be any good, but I can hope.
CJHutch - October 20, 2011
Who gets demoted from the roster w/ Kareem off PUP?
Kevin Ewoldt - October 20, 2011
Jamaal Brown?
I can dream can’t I…Seriously though it better be a WR, I’m guessing Stallworth
Steve Shoup - October 20, 2011
I don't know about demoted, but I know who I would cut
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
Kareem Moore?
mbedner - October 20, 2011
or Brandon Banks?
mbedner - October 20, 2011
bingo
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
if only
Steve Shoup - October 20, 2011
I wouldn't cry if Stallworth was let go either
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
You HAVE to cut a WR, it's the only logical spot
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
I say we get rid of O-linemen.
Beck is mobile, right?
mbedner - October 20, 2011
haha, if they try to put Dejon Gomes on PS then I'll cry... maybe Markus White? (NO!)
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
Why not Markus White?
SpartanFS47 - October 20, 2011 via mobile
why take a chance of losing a promising player?
Steve Shoup - October 20, 2011
definitely not white
Only reasonable option is one of the receivers, but which one? At this point, as much as it kills me to say it, Banks roster spot makes the most sense so he could be in jeopardy. But honestly I wouldn’t mind if they just cut kareem
travisjh86 - October 20, 2011
This.
I don’t really think Kareem deserves a roster spot over Banks. Maybe Stallworth, but Austin would really have to step up (or—fingers crossed—one of the rooks).
Reedskin - October 20, 2011
Banks hasn't exactly set the bar too high, I'm sure Austin and Paul can handle it.
Steve Shoup - October 21, 2011
I can take Banks spot. If I just catch the ball and take a knee then I'll likely improve
our starting field position by 5 yards
Parks Smith - October 21, 2011
Actually you'd hurt our starting field position by ~1.3 yards.
Assuming that when you caught a ball outside the endzone, you ran it back to the 20 instead of taking a knee.
So if you get signed to the team, when Moore comes off the PUP, we’re cutting you before Banks. You were close though.
Reedskin - October 21, 2011
The fact that I kind of agree with this...
gives insight to how much I think Moore contributes (or doesn’t) to this team.
Reedskin - October 21, 2011
I noticed last week that Phillip Buchanon was inactive for the Eagles game.
If/when Kareem comes back, its just going to be a harder decision on who will be active during the games.
Chilliewil - October 21, 2011
Why the hate towards Stallworth?
Hes done more than Paul and Hank…
SpartanFS47 - October 20, 2011 via mobile
Plus, he has killed more people
How many people have either Paul or Hankerson killed that we know of? Instant reason to keep him, more street cred.
mbedner - October 20, 2011
wow. oh man thats hilarious. rec’d.
Kevin Ewoldt - October 20, 2011
Who has a better chance at helping this team long term, Stallworth or Paul/Hank?
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
There it is.
Stallworth had an awful drop last game too. Bench him.
smutsboy1 - October 20, 2011
What about Santana droppin passes? Would you bench him?
And Stallworth is already semi-benched.
SpartanFS47 - October 20, 2011 via mobile
When Moore comes back we have to demote someone or cut someone.
What is your case to keep Stallworth?
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
Simple. Production.
But hes still not starter. More serviceable backup. Better than Hank and Paul AT THIS POINT. Paul gives away that we’ll run it if hes in, and Hank hasnt seen the field.
SpartanFS47 - October 20, 2011 via mobile
He's made 5 catches, you don't think Austin/Paul/Hank could pick up the slack?
I don’t dislike Stallworth, he’s just the candidate that makes the most sense.
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
I thought Banks did.
SpartanFS47 - October 20, 2011 via mobile
You're preaching to the choir there.
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011
paul is more productive on special teams alone
Steve Shoup - October 20, 2011
Hankerson sucks. He is a slightly bigger Devin Thomas with worse hands. The guy had one year, just like Thomas, and can’t even make the field on a team with Dante Stallworth. I know everyone loves a big receiver but I am going to make an early call with ’He Sucks"

DCO'sfan - October 20, 2011
He meant one flashy statistical year in College
I disagree though, but it does seem that only more playing time would help him.

This

Moss had 2 receptions his rookie season, season isn't over for Hank yet.
Parks Smith - October 21, 2011
everyone you mentioned was a 1st round pick
and Irvin, Moss and Johnson were all top 20 picks. There are plenty of 2nd, 3rd and 4th round wideouts who aren’t active or see playing time as rookies that go on to have great careers. Maybe he's a slow learner?
Each year at the U he improved in every statistical category, give him some time
travisjh86 - October 21, 2011
Yeah, I didn't say anything about his NFL play.
You said he had one good year in college. I showed how this was incorrect. Nothing in my post was inaccurate in any way.
As for Hankerson’s NFL career (several months long), I’ll defer to the three earlier responses to your post (Parks/Steve/Travis).
Reedskin - October 21, 2011
I think they do help us in the future.
Not sayin they suck, I’m just talking about NOW. Dont get me wrong I really wanna see Hank get some PT.
SpartanFS47 - October 20, 2011 via mobile
Paul has done quite a bit more than Stallworth
it’s not just about receptions
Steve Shoup - October 20, 2011
Ugh.
According to John Keim, Locklear has never played well at LT.
Our offense struggled to score 20 points with it’s top OL in.
I’m scared of what it’s going to do with Licht & TW out.
smutsboy1 - October 20, 2011
buckle up
Parks Smith - October 20, 2011

That means we’ll win, RIGHT?!
