Quick question for you guys who look at the other SB Nation blogs
Does anyone else get such ridiculous feedback and following as us? I mean this is the 4th thread today and each one has had a ridiculous number of comments.
the Braves blog I frequent is on a completely different level. They regularly have 2 open threads for games (2000 comments EVERY DAY) and each of their articles gets several hundred comments. But that’s because baseball attracts nerds.
I’ve got nothing against Penn State as a school. But the guys that run that blog and as such are responsible for that whole conference re-draft thing…
Black Shoe Diaries…have picked the worst teams. Aside from the Gators of course. It’s a good thing that I don’t care one bit for the re-draft thing, otherwise, I’d vent my frustration. I believe this is the first and only.
I thought that BC blog was behind it. I don’t even recall seeing mention of it on BSD, though maybe I’ve just forgotten. I remember Testudo Times covering it, though
However, you may or may not know that BSD recently just completely changed who runs the blog now. They basically merged together a bunch of PSU blogs as well as a couple other guys, and it’s improved because of it IMO
That’s right, it was BHGP. That whole idea is retarded, but BHGP can have some funny stuff from time to time. Usually when they get in arguments with MGoBlog
I think it is retarded as well. I said so at Alligator Army when we (Gators) were the 2nd overall pick. Not one mention of it since. Which is fantastic.
“The Skins were 6-10 last year, like us. They shed their fat and have made signings and trades that addressed their needs. I hate them, but you have to give them credit. They seem to at least have a plan that makes sense and are acting upon it.”
i perdicted that this would happen ,and I do nt meen ta rub anyone ’ s noze in it , but I said that would happen way back from last year when wverbody sayz yer crazy man , but I said it the so who do you think was right hmmmmmm . ?
David Akers. I’ve met his parents. 2009. They were on their way to Atlanta for the game. His birthday was the following Monday or something like that. I saw what they were giving him for his birthday present.
I always figured it would be someone like a Saving Private Ryan character Edward Burns. Not that I look or sound like him, but someone with that attitude.
I also went to HS with Matt Prater. Denver’s kicker. Well, for a year and a half before he transferred to a rival HS right down the road a bit. He was a d-bag.
when will we find out jersey numbers? i dont think it was until the first preseason game that i found out trent williams number...i wanna know about atogwe
I have this image that Bruce Allen tied Dan Snyder to a chair in his office with the shades downto prevent him for messing up this Free Agency. Snyder thrashes back and forth, trying to break the rope, screaming, “NNAMDI! JENKINS! KOLB!”. Every so often he tips over and lies on the floor, very pitifully, but he is comforted by his dreams of Brett Favre hitting Santonio Holmes and TO on deep outs while he rolls in a pile of $100 dollar bills he got from all the merchandise.
“Bruce! How could you trade Albert? Eventually he would turn it around!” “Bruce! Let me out of here! Vinny would never tie me up for football related matters!” “Get me Ochocinco! I learned Spanish to help bring him in!!”
Bruce calmly replies, “Shut the f*** up, I got this.”
Exactly. He alone (by twisting Earnest Graham’s leg under a pile on more then one occasion and he sprained his knee ligaments) cost the Gators the 2001 National Championship.
There was so much dirty crap coming from both sides that game, there’s no way to single anybody out. Your gators have typically been one of the dirtier teams around (though I’ll give them credit for being sneaky about it). Spurrier wasn’t known for discipline any more than Bobby was, and Urban would let them (very nearly literally) get away with murder, and just bench them for a quarter in a meaningless game against a Div 1-AA team.
Another Speed QB to chase around. This is a mistake on our part. We could’ve had Vick for cheap and we let him revive the Eagles. Now VY is available and we let him go too. Not saying he’s Steve Young, but last time I checked Beck is our projected starter…
If we use our Haynesworth pick to round to draft a D lineman and he turns out to be a perennial pro bowler does that mean Vinny Cerato is a genius and was just not allowed to see his plan through?
Our d ain’t that bad either. Front line – Cofield, Bryant, Bowen; LBs – Kerrigan, McIntosh/Riley, Fletcher, Orackpo; DBs Hall, Landry, Atogwe, Wilson. Our d is stout!
Skins have signed Dante Barnes from Norfolk State, CB, 6'1, 194

I think the Chiefs site is the most active stats-wise
Parks Smith - July 28, 2011
We're definitely a close second though
From what I can tell looking at the Boys and the Giants, unless the East is just a particularly slow division blog-wise.
TheDeepBall - July 28, 2011
and its probably that
SB nation isn’t their primary blog.. there are a lot of other sites the other NFC east teams are on
terp121 - July 28, 2011

Anyone but Gano. I’d take the asian kid with the thick googles from the Little Giants movie over Gano.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
Without question.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
The sleeper of the bunch is Alex Krieger
Diesel44 - July 28, 2011
Nice...
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
Yeah, I like Carli Lloyd or Heather Mitts as my back-up. But Krieger…yeah. Good call.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
She's damn sure on my radar
i also have a thing for Rampone, but just cause she’s a kickass sweeper.
Jim America - July 28, 2011
Me too. She's a spunky one.
BTW, Apologize for the quaility of Alex’s picture. It was taken from my iPhone after I gave her a good rodgering. She begrudenly smiled for the photo.
Diesel44 - July 28, 2011
No need for apologies
she’s got that look I’m used to which says “fine, I’ll let you hit it if you’ll stop asking.”
Jim America - July 28, 2011
more like I guess 500 bucks is enough..
Diesel44 - July 28, 2011
Yeah right
like I have $500…
Jim America - July 28, 2011
Tattoo leading to a very existential place.
Jefferson1935 - July 28, 2011
It's a shamrock.
Meaning aren’t you a lucky fucker for getting this close to the promise land.
Diesel44 - July 28, 2011
Lucky fucker indeed
she’s definitely a 1.
Jim America - July 28, 2011
8:30 A.M. Friday
Donnio1234 - July 28, 2011
Why so late in the week? Is it in correlation with something?
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
Yep
In correlation with the date of the 1st preseason game. Everyone gets the same distance between games
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
And they say life isn’t fair.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
I read that you can't start training camp more than 15 days before your first preseason game
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
2 weeks of training camp. And we can sign what 90 players?
Championship!
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
It sucks for a lot of the rookies.
Thats a pretty short transition before their first NFL (preseason) game.
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Yeah, that does seem short. Hopefully ours will be just fine.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
RT @McClain_on_NFL: J Joseph gets 5 years, $48.75 million and $23.5 guaranteed, including $12.5 signing bonus, from Houston.
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Carlos Rogers is salivating right now.
Unfortunately he’ll be working as a package handler at FedEx week one. He’ll eventually get fired for dropping too many boxes.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
Haha
CapitalDominion - July 28, 2011
no one is going
to sign him to nice deal, so he might as well come back to the skins for a CHEAPER asking price and move on with his life…
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
Sheesh
what’s Nnamdi gonna rake in?
Jim America - July 28, 2011
Nnamdi's asking price
Is like 15 million per year.
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
Add 20-25 million to the total and 15 to the guaranteed.
Or something ridiculous like that.
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Wasn't Parks (HH GM exercise) estimating about $12 mill/yr for him?
If so, he got less than expected.
Donnio1234 - July 28, 2011
is it possible we have people who are going to signs deals but wont be realeased to the media until tomorrow night at 6?
hailyeah - July 28, 2011
Very possible
Most of these deals aren’t being reported publicly by agents.
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
so there is a possibility we wil sign jenkins but wont know till tomorrow
hailyeah - July 28, 2011
yes
Parks Smith - July 28, 2011
Doubt it
Someone reported that the Bowen trade happened once/after our negotiations with Cullens fell through
tman5 - July 28, 2011
We are probably hovering in the shadows
With our original deal, waiting to see what happens.
CapitalDominion - July 28, 2011
when will we find out jersey numbers? i dont think it was until the first preseason game that i found out trent williams number...i wanna know about atogwe
hailyeah - July 28, 2011
He said on his twitter that he will not even try to wear 21 out of respect.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
I like him more each day
Jim America - July 28, 2011
the Redskins Facebook page has a contest
Guess what his number will be and win an autographed jersey
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
cool.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
I think it ends at mdnight
I entered with 4 diff numbers. We’ll see.
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Screw getting an Atogwe jersey
I just want a t-shirt with this picture on it
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
now you know why Portis did an open filed belly flop...
Diesel44 - July 28, 2011
*field
Diesel44 - July 28, 2011
You don'
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
Bleh. You don't mess with this guy.
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
thats the face i make when i hear about the skins bringing ina 30+ player
hailyeah - July 28, 2011
Hahaha
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
hahahaha
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
ROFL
PAinfUL - July 28, 2011

Post of the month.
TheDeepBall - July 28, 2011
Darnell Dockett
said his coaches told him he’s staying in AZ
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Good. Keep that leg twisting SOAB away from DC.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
Darnell Dockett is a beast
I don’t care if he stomped on a guy’s face, I’d die for him to be a Skin.
BigOLinemen - July 28, 2011
Last time we got a d-lineman who stomped on a guy it didn’t work out so well.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
Hahahah! Exactly!
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
He stomped on a Cowboy so we gave him benefit of doubt.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
Andre Gurode deserves it.
Jim America - July 28, 2011
F Dockett..He's for the DMV and went to FSU and hated the Skins.
Diesel44 - July 28, 2011
Exactly. He alone (by twisting Earnest Graham’s leg under a pile on more then one occasion and he sprained his knee ligaments) cost the Gators the 2001 National Championship.
Dockett is a loser.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
Now I'm confused
i thought we were citing things we are NOT supposed to like about Dockett.
Jim America - July 28, 2011
His Twitter stuff towards PETA was hilarious.
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
Can we please turn this into an FSU/UF fight?
Reedskin - July 29, 2011
Done! =)
tuckwell - July 29, 2011
Oh whatever
There was so much dirty crap coming from both sides that game, there’s no way to single anybody out. Your gators have typically been one of the dirtier teams around (though I’ll give them credit for being sneaky about it). Spurrier wasn’t known for discipline any more than Bobby was, and Urban would let them (very nearly literally) get away with murder, and just bench them for a quarter in a meaningless game against a Div 1-AA team.
:-)
tuckwell - July 29, 2011
just like Royster
from fairfax, and he was a cowboy fan so I hope he doesn’t make it on the roster!
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
UDFA Draughn is a little 'boys fan too
Jim America - July 28, 2011
he's a bum as well....and besides he went to UNC
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
A-fucking-men
Jim America - July 28, 2011
He is from Penn State and via the Big 10 so automatically he is slow.
/stereotyping
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE...
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
Who wouldn’t want to play with Kevin Kolb? Oh wait…lots of people…
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
Chiefs released G Brian Waters
per LaCanfora
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
He's 34. His ankles will pop soon.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
Jenkins signed
Rich_Tandler
The Redskins second-round pick is signed. RT @Jarvis99jenkins: the INK is on PAPER….imma redskin baby!!!!
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Rich_Tandler
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
’Atta way Jenkins!
FlaGators - July 28, 2011
Apparently the Bears got a 3rd for Olsen
Parks Smith - July 28, 2011
That's insane!
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
It's crazy on the Bears blog.
They want Angelos’ head.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
I honestly wish
though the redskins could’ve gotten a piece of that action
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
Exactly
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Interesting
the player still he who must not be named?
Jim America - July 28, 2011
did you see he just signed for $6 million a year
remember that when thinking about resigning Davis
Steve Shoup - July 29, 2011
Vince Young is indeed going to the #Eagles as Vick's backup, according to @ClarkJudgeCBS.
Parks Smith - July 28, 2011
Just what we need in the NFC East
Another Speed QB to chase around. This is a mistake on our part. We could’ve had Vick for cheap and we let him revive the Eagles. Now VY is available and we let him go too. Not saying he’s Steve Young, but last time I checked Beck is our projected starter…
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
haha funniest thing I've heard all day
Parks Smith - July 28, 2011
ur welcome.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
Que?
VY is MENTALLY UNSTABLE…so therefore why pursue that headache?
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
Hindsight is 20/20- back when Vick was an FA no one thought he’d return to this level.
And even he wouldn’t want to come here- he was looking for a stable team with great infrastructure and, at this point, we’re not that.
As far as VY, while mobility is a nice thing to have, sanity is to.
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
That's not true.
No team wanted to touch him. Eagles were the only team to give him a chance. All they do is lift weights in prison…
What the hell type of condition did Ceratto think he woudl be in? A hungry Michael Vick beats fadeaway ankle thrower McNaab any day.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
nothing.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
He looked like shit his first year back actually
Jim America - July 28, 2011
And
While the eagles are doing better than the skins…What have they done different with Vick?
dr WNC - July 28, 2011
Christ...
I didn’t want him, but I don’t want the Eagles to get him either. Just gotta hope he fights with someone over there
Kyanz43 - July 28, 2011
2013 5th round
If we use our Haynesworth pick to round to draft a D lineman and he turns out to be a perennial pro bowler does that mean Vinny Cerato is a genius and was just not allowed to see his plan through?
hsoup - July 28, 2011
No, it just means that Bruce did a great job scouting!
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
DON'T U EVER
use Cerrato and genius in the same sentence!
That’s grounds for being banned.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
I second
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
cerrato
do you think he’d be willing to offer his prediction as to who we’ll take with that pick? Maybe he has his eyes on someone.
hsoup - July 28, 2011
maybe
they will bring him back as a consultant just to handle that one pick.
hsoup - July 28, 2011
never a genius, will always be a bum....
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
@MikeJonesWaPo

Hilarious!
@espn_nfceast
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
as long as the skins are making positive moves
I’m all for it
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
any new news
on the hands of stone (and not Ronnie Garvin; NWA fanboy) Carlos Rogers?
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
He was about to get a deal signed
until he dropped the pen.
BM22 - July 28, 2011
bwaahahhahahaha
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
ouch...
haahahhhhahahhaha
Big Spoon - July 28, 2011
hahahhaha
8vechkin - July 28, 2011
I would say one-liner of the month
PAinfUL - July 28, 2011
Rick Maese
So all but one Redskin draft pick – 7-rdr Maurice Hurt – appears signed. Also, entirely possible Hurt is also done. We’ll find out in AM
HogHunter - July 28, 2011
Someone tell Hurt that holdouts are not a good plan for 7th rounders.
Mr PotatoHead - July 28, 2011
umm we released Philip Daniels
skinaholic - July 28, 2011
when did this happen?
skinaholic - July 28, 2011
early this morning.
With those arms, I wonder who told him. Cerrato get your ass over there.
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
Yea no shit
skinaholic - July 28, 2011
-Cerrato's face once he has to tell Daniels he's cut-
SylvesterofRio - July 28, 2011
please don't kill me....

Parks Smith - July 28, 2011
I think it is for 4 years
Steve Shoup - July 29, 2011
not a great source but...
BREAKING NFL NEWSSource: NY JETS have come to an agreement in “principle” with Nnamdi Asomugha
Parks Smith - July 28, 2011
Yikes...
It’s okay, they still won’t be able to cover the duo of Jabar Gaffney and Donte Stallworth…..
thecook - July 28, 2011
Adam Schefter
Even with J Joseph going to Houston, no decision tonight from Nnamdi Asomugha. Jets the favorite, but not done yet. Twists left….
HogHunter - July 29, 2011
Anyone agree
Any chance all the WR signings were to give Beck as many options to throw to, IOT see who works out the best for him?
MAJSkinsfan - July 28, 2011
In addition to teaching the young ones?
MAJSkinsfan - July 28, 2011
That's a badass defense
and we play them. Also Pats (AH) and Minn (D-Mac). Still no O-line?
Donnio1234 - July 28, 2011
Yeah, but
Our d ain’t that bad either. Front line – Cofield, Bryant, Bowen; LBs – Kerrigan, McIntosh/Riley, Fletcher, Orackpo; DBs Hall, Landry, Atogwe, Wilson. Our d is stout!
MAJSkinsfan - July 28, 2011
You forgot Jarvis Jenkins on the Line
TheDeepBall - July 28, 2011
And Carriker.
TheDeepBall - July 28, 2011
McIntosh is not under contract
Jim America - July 28, 2011
Mcintosh
That’s why I put him with Riley who is signed. But hope he comes back, if he wants too.
MAJSkinsfan - July 29, 2011
We signed Chester
But still not enough O line.
Jim America - July 28, 2011
Adam Schefter
Big night in Tampa Bay. Bucs reach agreements with RG Davin Joseph (7 years), RT Jeremy Trueblood (2 years) and P Michael Koenen (6 years).
HogHunter - July 29, 2011
Joseph just signed a ridiculous 7 year $53 million deal How he gets over a million more per year than Yanda is outrageous
Steve Shoup - July 29, 2011
terrible contract for a very average guard..
Tampa Pay
Diesel44 - July 29, 2011
haha yeah
I’m so glad we didn’t go down that road. It just shocks me since OL aren’t cashing in this year.
Steve Shoup - July 29, 2011
True
Apologies, TDB, ur right, it’s even better than what I laid out.
MAJSkinsfan - July 29, 2011

Vince Young has reached a one-year deal with the Eagles. Will sign it tomorrow.
HogHunter - July 29, 2011
Eric Wright
Signing with Detroit via a combination of his and Gerald Alexander’s twitters. Don’t ask me why I follow Gerald Alexander
Kyanz43 - July 29, 2011
Adam Schefter
Reports of deal between Eagles and Vince Young are interesting. Young is still on waivers and can not talk to teams till he clears waivers.
HogHunter - July 29, 2011
Bust the Eagles for Tampering!
But I still dont want Young as a Redskin.
Mr PotatoHead - July 29, 2011
I guess the Skins could put in for him if they wanted to, I doubt it happens though.
Adam Schefter
Vince Young needs to appear on NFL’s waiver wire before Eagles can contact him. It’ll happen Friday about 4 pm ET. Eagles still likely.
HogHunter - July 29, 2011
I kinda wanted him to sign with the Skins
Adam Schefter
Seahawks reach agreement with former Cardinals DT Alan Branch on a two-year, $8 million deal that includes $4 million guaranteed.
