Our last Redskins open thread of the season. *teardrop*. As a reminder, another game thread will be posted for the Cowgirls vs Midgets game at 7pm. Merry New Year.
never been more convinced that we need to get a real-deal QB – between Brees’ all-time season yds and now all-time season comps, and Cam’s comp/yds/TDs for rookies.
The stands are half empty. One bad season in 15, and they don’t show up and just boo. Man can Philly be the first city taken in the armageddon this year?
did I see an O-lineman blocking into the end zone on that replay?
on a passing down – isn’t that illegal or something? kindof like grabbing a DE around the neck and taking him to the ground but not getting called for it illegal?
the small consolation is that thier winner is probably going to get Detroit… they brutalized Dallas earlier this year, it would be an interesting game w/ Giants. plus I can live with NYG going since we owned them this year
that guy really gets on my nerves. and why does everybody who plays shitty always break their drought against us?!?!?
I’m sick of being “get-well tonic” for the rest of the f@#$@# league. This is why we dont get calls & shit.
“Thanks for the offer Mike Holmgren. a 4 year 35 mil contract is tempting, but frankly I’d rather play for the Redskins for this 1 year, $4 million deal Dan Snyder is offering me”
I know Parks man I’m tired of going to work every morning and being the laughing stock of the office. I got so much Redskins stuff at my desk it sad and I can’t say a word.
offense & QB play like this should only further illustrate the point
that Gary Kubiak was the REAL genius all those years… NOT M. Shanahan @ Denver, NOT Kyle Shanahan @ HOuston.
HOuston scores w/ their 9th string qb to tie the game….
their 3rd string qb was able to put up numbers... straight out of college (QB evaluator)
also, I’m still furious w/ Kyle, he KNEW what Arian Foster had on the practice squad for them… let us sign all sorts of Willie Parkers & shit, and that kid was on the practice squad. And Ben Tate. Hell, everybody they put into that offense, which is supposed to be the same deal we run here
Now we can have a debate if that what you want. Jim Zorn had his legs taken from under him and Greg Williams was f@ck out of a job. Now if you say Jim is better then Greg then you need to be tested. We changed our how defense for a 3-4. You gave up Campbell for what nothing. The only thing that was done right was that we got rid of fat Albert and drafted after getting it right. Now after next years draft if we still at the bottom of the east then it’s time for mike sir or jr to go.
We may be 3 more years away from putting forth a competitive team. Whoever we bring in to play QB is going to need to learn a new system. We still need more o-line pieces, and they need time to gel. Our secondary needs to be overhauled. And depth is needed at safety, o-line, d-line, CB, and linebacker.
I’m sick of people not being healthy around here. not even the freak accidents – knees & what have you, we consistently have hamstring, ankle, hip injuries that cost guys entire seasons. what kind of rehab or conditioning are we doing?
Darrell Green
I am starting to change my mind about not wanting to coach the Redskins secondary. Maybe i could help coach Shanahan bring a winner back to the Burgundy & Gold.
Flashes of potential, disastrous endings. Sadly I feel no matter who we draft or sign next year it’s still gonna be the same old same old. It’s the Redskin way since 1992 . Hope for the best, definitely prepared for the worst. I don’t no why we do it to ourselves, knowing inevitably heartache looms at the end of ever season for us fans. I will say one thing though, the redskins fans – true fans – show an incredible resiliency to hold on and say " maybe next year." Its been a pleasure chatting with you all this season, here’s to a great draft, solid free agent acquisitions and the continued belief in the system by the players(and fans). Happy new year to you all, and as always…Hail!!(begrudgingly). Maybe next year…..
There’s are all kinds of players on teams I wild love to have as a redskin. As good as maybe orakpo is, Kerrigan will be, and maybe landry/ hall if you’re a moron, there really are no redskins that fans of every other team sit around and say " MAN I’d love to have that guy on my team!". It’s really disappointing.
But you’re wrong. We had no Pro Bowlers for a reason. Our players aren’t as talented as the other teams.
Again, I’ll give you Fletcher. Rak needs work, and RyKer needs time. Williams and Davis? Not hardly. Neither of them would even start for another team in our DIVISION.
I call bullshit on that. Davis was a top 10 TE this season before he was suspended and Trent is a young, talented OT. Plenty of teams would take these two in a heart beat.
Look around the league. Playmaking tight ends are a dime a dozen these days. TW definitely has potential, but I think the inference was that we don’t have any players most everyone COVETS. There’s a difference between thinking a player is nice, or COULD BE nice, and coveting a player.
However, sometimes it seems like what we have is no good because we aren’t winning. Take a look at the players who have left our team and have had big success elsewhere, most recently being Carlos Rogers and Andre Carter.
He’s’ playing the same as he did when he was here. (at least, before he got hurt). And he woulda been obsolete with Kerrigan here. Rogers is playing the same too, except for the interceptions, which seem to be held by the contacts. But he was our best cover corner here. It was always said that if he caught half of the balls that hit his hands, he’d be in the Pro Bowl. Now it’s proven.
Anyway, back to Davis and Williams. Putting aside the stupidity, they are both inconsistent as hell. Davis disappears for games at a time, and still can’t block. There are easily ten tight ends in the league I’d take over him. Maybe twelve. And at least that many left tackles I’d take over TW. Sorry to say.
It is all about perception. Rogers and Carter are Pro Bowl players when they weren’t here. Why? Because they are on winning teams. Winning teams gain notoriety. I would hate to see Landry leave this team because chances are, he is going to be a stud, especially if he goes to a good team.
Look at the 49ers. They are having an amazing year and are sending 8 to the Pro Bowl. Nobody would have guessed that they would have 8 Pro Bowlers at the beginning of the season. The reason for this is that they are winning. If we were going to the Playoffs, our players would be perceived completely differently. Not all, but some.
The grass is always greener on the other side. On our side, the grass is pretty much dirt. Everyone, except for Fletcher, can be and probably has been a scapegoat at some point this year. Because we are losing, nobody notices what we do have. Plus, we are a very young team and the roster has been turned over quite a bit these past couple of years. Consistency can help cure some of the problems. Players need to be able to depend on each other. Once this team gels, more depth is added, and we get a quarterback that doesn’t turn the ball over 2-3 times per game, I think the talent on this team will look a lot different.
I understand what you are saying, however. When you look at all the players that are contributing to winning teams, it gets depressing.
With everything you said there. I just don’t think it holds any bearing on this discussion. Rogers and Carter are going to the Pro Bowl, yes. But they don’t really fall into the category I’m talking about anyway. I’m not talking about fringe pro bowlers. I’m talking about the best of the best. All Pro’s. Orakpo is a very good player, but he’s no DeMarcus Ware, or even Terrell Suggs. Same with RyKer (for now, at least). Davis? Not even close to one of the top tight ends in the league. Williams – same thing. And so on…
You are talking best of the best. Although I might put Fletcher in that category. He’s not flashy, but he has been one of the most productive middle linebackers in the league, consistently. Other than him, I think our last one was Champ Bailey. Sean Taylor had potential, but never quite got there.
As far as acquiring elite talent, we have been handicapped for years by trading away draft picks for has-been elite talent. I still think that there is potential on this team for some elite talent to emerge, but it will require winning.
We need leaders on this team that are hard workers, not leaders who are outspoken; and these are the guys that need to be captains of this team. I’m talking about Lorenzo Alexander, Adam Carriker, Fletcher (obviously), Kerrigan, and Orakpo. Gee, come to think of it, I can’t think of one offensive player that fits in this category; perhaps Cooley.
Sorry, I know I went off subject there and I will stop now. I agree that we have no current elite talent on this team; although I still say that winning helps create this as well. Look at Welker. If he were on this team, would he be considered an elite receiver?
But I think we could throw considerably more money at him and with a guaranteed starting job I don’t see why he chooses Seattle over us. Especially with our backfield as a nice compliment. Our real competition is the Browns.
Its been a losing season but something to build upon with some bright spots (Helu, Kerrigan, etc.). Here’s a question to others who may be on the thread still. What team(s) will you be rooting for in the playoffs? I will be rooting for the Saints and TEBOW TIME if the broncos make it.
if raiders lose both bengals and broncos are in win or lose
i wont be rooting for anyteam to win. but ill be rooting for the giants or cowboys, 49ers, steelers, lions and ravens to lose lol…. im hoping for a pats vs pack or saints match up. so i can see 100 plus point superbowl
Well...
the D’s looked good?
adamvolo - January 1, 2012
I assumed that the "C" on the jerseys stood for "Captain"?
Between trent Williams, DeAngelo Hall and now Santana Moss, I have to assume it stands for “cretin”.
Fucking idiots.

Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
We're a second half juggernaut
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Yeah, that's are problem
We’d be 16-0 if only the game didn’t end so fast
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Is it sad that I'm waiting for Gano to get a kickoff blocked?
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
of just whiffing the ball
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Yes
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
I'm 29 years old.. I don't tee hee.. But keep them coming
Chillz - January 1, 2012
But you stil LOL?
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
I'm 40 years old... life's too short not to tee hee : )
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
+1
It is the added bonus that you get with your physical at 40 that make you tee hee
WestCoastHokie - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Kinda makes "turn your head and cough" seem like a tease, doesn't it
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Question to the Hog Nation?
Who are you rooting for tonite not that it matters. The cowgirls or the shiants? I think it will be a sad day for us if the cow pukes win.
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
Giants
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
no question... the giants
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Not rooting for either.
Just for the Cowboys to lose
Bahga - January 1, 2012
Hey Parks you going to do a thread?
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Giants
No question
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Cowgirls can never be rooted for by a Redskins fan
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
Kinda hoping
The stadium implodes
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
i cannot ever root for Dallas
the small consolation is that thier winner is probably going to get Detroit… they brutalized Dallas earlier this year, it would be an interesting game w/ Giants. plus I can live with NYG going since we owned them this year
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
Another case of great tackling
WestCoastHokie - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Lmao!! @SkinsLifer
Chillz - January 1, 2012
He's on a roll
Chillz - January 1, 2012
ne 35-21 wow
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
Jesus
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
What's up?
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
Now that was sad
How does that happen to us only?
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
Blah
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Crap
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
matt flynn for president
vjessejamesv - January 1, 2012
Sure does throw a nice deep ball
Kurtstack - January 1, 2012
not a bad audition at all
vjessejamesv - January 1, 2012
Matt Flynn then Jonathan Martin with our 1st picks sounds good to me
Jeff Bernard - January 1, 2012
we dont spend the picks to trade up
and yes jonathon martin would be fantastic
vjessejamesv - January 1, 2012
The obligatory D.Jax big play on us...
Chillz - January 1, 2012
maybe he will sign with us as a reward?
DavidDunn - January 1, 2012
Yea who wouldn't want an offensive version of DHall!
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
I'll take him. He is exactly what we need.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
I think
He is the epitome of what we DON’T need.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
A deep play threat that wants the ball?
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
a cancer
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
A me first, second, and third
Prima Dona showboat who hurts his team with idiotic antics all the time
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
He's a talented receiver and would be an easy #1 on this team.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
don't care
he would be detrimental to the team culture Shanahan has established.
TheDeepBall - January 1, 2012
Easily man... no brainer... would really be positive influence on a rookie QB and young team
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
that was a joke...exactly the Snyder type of signing that makes no sense
DavidDunn - January 1, 2012
Please no
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
with a bracket coverage.
that guy really gets on my nerves. and why does everybody who plays shitty always break their drought against us?!?!?
I’m sick of being “get-well tonic” for the rest of the f@#$@# league. This is why we dont get calls & shit.
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
19-13 jax
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
21-12-19 pax
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
its over colts are a joke
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
Why did we put Aldrick Robinson on the roster
if they’re not putting him on punt returns?
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
keep other teams from signing him off of our practice squad
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Someone was trying to scoop him from our PS
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
He’s not even active. A bit of a head scratcher I agree.
WestCoastHokie - January 1, 2012 via mobile
I'd take him too.. Would you guys take Stevie Johnson??
Chillz - January 1, 2012
Royster with some hellish running.
TheDeepBall - January 1, 2012
the field is green mostly
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Yep
It’s time to sign matt flynn and pick up playmakers in the draft.
Kurtstack - January 1, 2012
Nobody in the league can move the ball like the Skins
from their own 20 to mid-field
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
We sign Flynn for a 1yr deal, draft a bunch of playmakers like kurstack said, and then draft Barkley next yr
Bahga - January 1, 2012
And why would Flynn sign a 1 year deal?
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Because we want him to?
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
tee hee
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Do prevent the risk of a long term deal such as
him not playing as to how we envision him. Plus if we can land a good qb next yr then why do we neeed flynn
Bahga - January 1, 2012
to*
Bahga - January 1, 2012
Whoosh
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
did you mean whoomp?
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Once again... why would FLYNN sign a 1 year deal?
Both parties have to agree
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
That makes sense for us
But why would that make sense for him? Especially when there’ll more than likely be some other team offering him a multi-year deal.
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
“Thanks for the offer Mike Holmgren. a 4 year 35 mil contract is tempting, but frankly I’d rather play for the Redskins for this 1 year, $4 million deal Dan Snyder is offering me”
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Especially considering how awesomely awesome the Redskins have been at winning over the years
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
Why the hell would Flynn sign a 1 year deal?
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Mr.Snyder
could work something out
Bahga - January 1, 2012
right... way to learn the past 12 year
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Why would Flynn sign a 1 year deal?
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
Hey at least Rex held on to the ball
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Sanchez is super horrible.....glad we didn't get that prick
irishgoon - January 1, 2012
oh for fuck's sake
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Hell No
We need a QB this year god help us if we got Rex next year.
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
Matt Flynn
Will be your QB next year. He’ll probably sign a contract comparable to Kolb’s.
Kurtstack - January 1, 2012
Flynn and Jonathan Martin > RG3
Jeff Bernard - January 1, 2012
or flynn and decastro would be nice too
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
+1
Redskin44 - January 1, 2012
I guess nothing left but to root for the Bucs and Browns
I am ready for the off-season Kool-Aid

64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012

DavidDunn - January 1, 2012
yea it's all brown and stuff
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
What do they call it when you troll your own blog?
DavidDunn - January 1, 2012
Finally got our turnover
Now let’s turn it into points.
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
Second turnover
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Ah yep, you're right
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
This is the only time I wish for that banned name!
If we had a certain GM and I won’t say his name we would get Luck or RGIII!
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
How?
We wouldn’t have any picks to trade up with.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Knowing that person he would give up 5 years of picks for Luck and 4 years for RGIII
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
And having no draft picks for 4 or 5 years helps this depth/talent-depleted team out in what way?
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
Yea he really reached out for a bunch of franchise QBs in the past
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
"And from the sideline they'll ask Michael Vick, 'What did you see to make you make a throw like that?'"
And Rex Grossman will answer, “You mean we’re supposed to look first?”
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
genuinely laughed out loud there

New Year not hung over! Was the DD last nite.
I know Parks man I’m tired of going to work every morning and being the laughing stock of the office. I got so much Redskins stuff at my desk it sad and I can’t say a word.
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
Never thought I'd say this
but let Rex go deep.
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012

Jeff Bernard - January 1, 2012

davetrembling - January 1, 2012

CJHutch - January 1, 2012
You need to be louder.
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012

JLynnDC - January 1, 2012

64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
who the fuck is advising shanahan on these challenges?

SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
I doubt were going to need that timeout... Its over
Chillz - January 1, 2012
Does anyone remember the seven American Indians protesting superbowl 26?
Did they put a hex on our team? we really have sucked ever since. Nothing has gone right.

damn still 7 minutes left
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
Sorry if this has been covered already but,

irishgoon - January 1, 2012

I know has anything to say. They’ve been beyond a joke this year.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Game Over?
BM22 - January 1, 2012
Game over.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
Not for 6 more minutes
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
You forgot the 2nd INT Rexy hasn't thrown.
BM22 - January 1, 2012
holy shit
We have 6 more minutes of this?
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Fuck the Eagles.
Seriously, fuck those guys. and fuck us for letting a division full of dirtbags & assholes push us around all the time.
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
they are always going to be the losers of our division. Every one needs one.
Cowboy 5
Redskins 3
Giants 3 (19 extra years)
feables 0
brettpedigo - January 1, 2012
Giants had 19 extra years in the SB era??
Steve Shoup - January 1, 2012
Wow, that's impressive
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
it took 19 extra years to tie the Skins at 3 rings
brettpedigo - January 1, 2012
Zorn>Shanny
brettpedigo - January 1, 2012
please hand over your redskins fan card now
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012

davetrembling - January 1, 2012
i'm kidding.
But he does have a better record.
brettpedigo - January 1, 2012
sadly.
brettpedigo - January 1, 2012
That's it. Some one take his keys
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
Honestly I was kidding.
brettpedigo - January 1, 2012

brettpedigo - January 1, 2012
Your grandma and I should hang out.
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
It's my irishness
we cuss a lot.
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Depressing thing
is that these last two games the defense has not played well
Redskin44 - January 1, 2012
Time for one more Grossman pick
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
This blows...
What are the chances that I could get on the practice squad next year? Couldn’t hurt them any worse, could it?
woogiebear - January 1, 2012
Jax 19 Colts 13 Final
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
We move to 6th pick now?
Two more victories to go. Cleveland and Tampa.
Copious 1 - January 1, 2012 via Android app
That series was depressing
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
What will be this year reasons?
This is going to be the most talked about off season. I think we will have some heated conversation this off season.
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
This is going to be a franchise defining offseason
Too bad the colts didn’t win. This could have been an extremely interest offseason if the rams held the first overall pick.
mbedner - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Think it may be pretty smooth.
As long as a Rex is no longer the QB and we get some oline.
Copious 1 - January 1, 2012 via Android app
this game is proof why we need an entire new O-Line
Steve Shoup - January 1, 2012
NO STEVE, we need to sign DeSean Jackson!
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
and qb, cb, more more more
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
bingo
and the secondary is a bigger problem than I thought
Redskin44 - January 1, 2012
Skins are either going to draft 4th, 5th, or 6th. Totally in the hands of Cleveland and Tampa now
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
Rex Grossman
Pro bowler?
hambonejackson - January 1, 2012
You mean
pro BOWLER? Maybe.
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
i mean I am glad this is the last game
hambonejackson - January 1, 2012
he's got nothing on Munson or Big Ern McKraken
irishgoon - January 1, 2012
Haha gotta love Charles Davis backpeddling about sexy Rexy
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Doughty just laid out their FB.
BM22 - January 1, 2012
offense & QB play like this should only further illustrate the point
that Gary Kubiak was the REAL genius all those years… NOT M. Shanahan @ Denver, NOT Kyle Shanahan @ HOuston.
HOuston scores w/ their 9th string qb to tie the game….
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
Wow that's guts
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
they are also limping into the playoffs
they are goiung nowhere
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
I wish we were limping into the playoffs
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
their 3rd string qb was able to put up numbers... straight out of college (QB evaluator)
also, I’m still furious w/ Kyle, he KNEW what Arian Foster had on the practice squad for them… let us sign all sorts of Willie Parkers & shit, and that kid was on the practice squad. And Ben Tate. Hell, everybody they put into that offense, which is supposed to be the same deal we run here
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
false
No talent here. Only problem
Copious 1 - January 1, 2012 via Android app
We had talent here just mistakes were made in our front office.
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
What talent?
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
Our ground crew ROCKS
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Did you see the field last week?
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
Crap
there goes the talent
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
We gave up picks for mcscabb and Brown.
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
So McNabb and Brown are the talent?
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
We had talent.
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
correction...
they went for 2 & bollocksed it all up… so Not tied.
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
Officially a blow out.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
Wow just kind of gave up huh?
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
i don't care what the recievers say rex is a big part of the letdown
defense is on the field ALL the time
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
Wow Flynn could be the real deal
admit I was wrong
Redskin44 - January 1, 2012
You should def judge a guy on one game
Parks Smith - January 1, 2012
When was the last time
A redskin QB threw for 400 yards and 5 TDs?
Kurtstack - January 1, 2012
I think he should
Be put in the pro bowl
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
HA
Grossman 16 TDs in 16 games. Flynn 5 TDs in 1 game. Hmmmm
Kurtstack - January 1, 2012
ok that was not an intelligent comment
rethink how many games Rex played…
adamvolo - January 1, 2012
if intelligence is required for posts, i'm outta here
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Sorry
LOL – I think you get the point anyway
Kurtstack - January 1, 2012
haha naw it's all good
I was just sayin’
adamvolo - January 1, 2012
In all fairness
we knew Beck blew chunks after only 1 game
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
I knew BEFORE one game
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
You can see into the future?
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
He's got a Delorean, lucky bastard
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
No I look at his past
But that would be alot cooler if I could
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
The past doesn't always determine the future though
In this case though, yes.
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Watched the guy all through college
No one in Utah could believe the guy got drafted in the second round
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
You use an entire game?
I like basing my judgements on the first half.
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
oh, a sleezy little comment from Parks...shocking
Redskin44 - January 1, 2012
1 more NFL game
Than any of the college QBs being hyped in the draft…
Kurtstack - January 1, 2012
actually I believe this is 2nd start
Redskin44 - January 1, 2012
Let's go Cleveland and Tampa Bay!!!!!!!
adamvolo - January 1, 2012
peppermartin - January 1, 2012
That pretty much sums up this season
bigrm18 - January 1, 2012
I hate to say it, but I will anyways.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
we need a new trainer
I’m sick of people not being healthy around here. not even the freak accidents – knees & what have you, we consistently have hamstring, ankle, hip injuries that cost guys entire seasons. what kind of rehab or conditioning are we doing?
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
this would have sounded crazy 2-3 yrs ago
but I wish we were as good as Detroit or Oakland
Prodigal PGcounty son - January 1, 2012
royster running for all those yards just shows how bad the qb position is killing us

Just tweeted by Darrel Green...
Darrell Green
I am starting to change my mind about not wanting to coach the Redskins secondary. Maybe i could help coach Shanahan bring a winner back to the Burgundy & Gold.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
He needs not to tease us.

A merciful end to this sad season
As the Skins walked the green mile at last.
hambonejackson - January 1, 2012
Sucks having this feeling every year
Flashes of potential, disastrous endings.
CuseSkinsfan1 - January 1, 2012
Let the Offseason begin
it’s always our best season of the year
SkinsLifer - January 1, 2012
Damn we coulda had Ray Rice
I’d take hm over Thomas/Kelly/Davis combined.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
We could've had Tom Brady
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
We could've had Jim Harbaugh as a coach
NITECRAWLER1G - January 1, 2012
Ok, but
It was stupid to pick those three guys over Rice. Brady was a lottery ticket
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
I was just thinking...
CuseSkinsfan1 - January 1, 2012
Haven't had that player
Since Sean Taylor. Although smart fans of teams outside of Baltimore and SanFran would say that of Fletcher.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Sure there is...
1. Orakpo
2. Kerrigan
3. Williams
4. Davis
5. Fletcher
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
Sorry to say
But you’re wrong. We had no Pro Bowlers for a reason. Our players aren’t as talented as the other teams.
Again, I’ll give you Fletcher. Rak needs work, and RyKer needs time. Williams and Davis? Not hardly. Neither of them would even start for another team in our DIVISION.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
I call bullshit on that. Davis was a top 10 TE this season before he was suspended and Trent is a young, talented OT. Plenty of teams would take these two in a heart beat.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
Agree to disagree
Look around the league. Playmaking tight ends are a dime a dozen these days. TW definitely has potential, but I think the inference was that we don’t have any players most everyone COVETS. There’s a difference between thinking a player is nice, or COULD BE nice, and coveting a player.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Agree to Disagree
However, sometimes it seems like what we have is no good because we aren’t winning. Take a look at the players who have left our team and have had big success elsewhere, most recently being Carlos Rogers and Andre Carter.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
Carter didn't fit
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Which is what I am saying.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
I completely agree
With everything you said there. I just don’t think it holds any bearing on this discussion. Rogers and Carter are going to the Pro Bowl, yes. But they don’t really fall into the category I’m talking about anyway. I’m not talking about fringe pro bowlers. I’m talking about the best of the best. All Pro’s. Orakpo is a very good player, but he’s no DeMarcus Ware, or even Terrell Suggs. Same with RyKer (for now, at least). Davis? Not even close to one of the top tight ends in the league. Williams – same thing. And so on…
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Got ya.

WildwouldCuseSkinsfan1 - January 1, 2012
We need new uniforms.
Burgundy and Black
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
To go with a new attitude.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
where is our uniform guy
we could mock up some cool uniforms
vjessejamesv - January 1, 2012
I'd rather not
Give them more things to think about.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Still want em?
mbedner - January 1, 2012
ABsolutely. I love that. Would change it to black pants with burgondy stripes though.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
And black in the helmet.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
You have no eye or fashion
That looks terrible. Stick with burgundy and gold.
mbedner - January 1, 2012
Yeah, I'm definitely no fashion guru...but I still like it. I think it looks slick.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
Love it
CuseSkinsfan1 - January 1, 2012
I love it
but only if the team is badass enough to wear it.
JLynnDC - January 1, 2012
Seems our D kind of quit after Rak went down
64ShagginWagon - January 1, 2012
I think Snyder
should buy the Saints and move them to Washington. Enough with all the rebuilds.
hambonejackson - January 1, 2012
or...OR
Howabout Snyder moves to New Orleans, sells the team to Ozzie Newsome
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
I'd be happy if Snyder moved to NO.
then the team can stay.
hambonejackson - January 1, 2012
Russellmania980 Chris Russell
Shanny says “Rex played a heck of a game” says “Houdini” couldn’t have made some of those throws. #Redskins

CJHutch - January 1, 2012
I would expect not
Houdini, from what I understand, had a bit of a noodle arm…

Maybe Grossman can do a little magic

Flynn just set a Packers passing record.
Sevendust34 - January 1, 2012
6 fucking td's
davetrembling - January 1, 2012
matt flynn is puttin on a clinic
maybe the packers will see that flynn is better than rodgers and give him to us he he
vjessejamesv - January 1, 2012
I'm OK with that.
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Matt Flynn is better than Aaron Rodger
Haha
Jeff Bernard - January 1, 2012
Are you craving Cheetos?
CJHutch - January 1, 2012
Nearly 500 passing yards and 6 TDs
Flynn looked accurate and threw amazing deep balls. Set all-time green bay single game passing record. Nice audition for him today.

So...Tampa doesn't want to help us out?
Let’s go Cleveland!
Copious 1 - January 1, 2012
Id saying Atlanta trading up for Julio Jones was a pretty solid move. Julio is a beast.
J.D.45 - January 1, 2012
Can we sign Matt Flynn please?!
DCO'sfan - January 1, 2012
think he is already on his way to seattle as we speak
munson21502 - January 1, 2012
Why do you say that?
We can probably give him more money than Seattle. That, and a starting job should entice him, no?
DCO'sfan - January 1, 2012
Pete Carroll said they're going forward with Tarvaris Jackson as the man in Seattle.
I believe that as much as when Shanny says he’s putting his reputation on the line with our all star QB’s.
HogHunter - January 1, 2012
I agree that they will make a push for Flynn
But I think we could throw considerably more money at him and with a guaranteed starting job I don’t see why he chooses Seattle over us. Especially with our backfield as a nice compliment. Our real competition is the Browns.
DCO'sfan - January 1, 2012
Well, let's see how the offseason shapes up.
Its been a losing season but something to build upon with some bright spots (Helu, Kerrigan, etc.). Here’s a question to others who may be on the thread still. What team(s) will you be rooting for in the playoffs? I will be rooting for the Saints and TEBOW TIME if the broncos make it.
the maroon bird - January 1, 2012
if raiders lose both bengals and broncos are in win or lose
i wont be rooting for anyteam to win. but ill be rooting for the giants or cowboys, 49ers, steelers, lions and ravens to lose lol…. im hoping for a pats vs pack or saints match up. so i can see 100 plus point superbowl
