Tyler Wilson Returning to Arkansas
The junior QB will return to Fayetteville for his senior year. Wilson was first team All-SEC in 2011.
Where will QB carousel stop for the Redskins? - Washington Times
You can't pay too much attention to the quarterback position in the NFL (though the Washington Redskins have been ignoring this axiom for the past year). Until you find a bona fide QB, you can forget about hoisting any Lombardi trophies, forget about making any history — the good kind, at least. In fact, until you find a bona fide QB, you're pretty much roadkill for all the teams that have found bona fide QBs.

Redskins positional review: running backs | John Keim | NFL | Washington Examiner
Better or worse than 2010: Better. Last season Clinton Portis couldn’t stay healthy and though Ryan Torain appeared to end strong, there was little to no depth. Now they have two rookies in Evan Royster and Roy Helu who, at the least, add solid depth.
On Special Teams, Kick Coverage Stood Out
"We watch every special teams play as a team to let our players know how important those plays are," Shanahan said. "[They are] usually the difference in winning and losing."

Will the Redskins draft a cornerback at No. 6?
Two well-known draft analysts have the Redskins taking different cornerbacks with the sixth draft pick. Is this a good idea?
Redskins might be wise to keep, not trade, picks
If the Redskins' 2011 class is any indication, they might be inclined to keep their picks and not trade them for a quarterback.

i've done a few mock drafts in my head and there is a good chance we land Claibourne or Blackmon
If that happens i will be happy
Jeff Bernard - January 13, 2012
I won't.
I’ll cry myself to sleep in my Taylor Lautner pillow.
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
You would be mad if we got one of the top 4 players in the draft?
Those two positions are far from our biggest need but both are so good that it would be worth it.
Jeff Bernard - January 13, 2012
Yes.
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
that’s Matt Millen thinking.
BAFGA - January 13, 2012 via Android app
I've got some good news for you then, iH8
I was reading some posts on thewarpath.net and someone had an interesting tidbit they learned from one of their sources: Shanahan is willing to trade two firsts and a third to move up for RG3.
Perhaps this news will stop you tears and save some wear and tear on the crotch of your Taylor Lautner body pillow
mbedner - January 13, 2012
:) Yay
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
I was able to find a picture of the source
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
I didn't know John Daly was a Skins fan.
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
Daly is actually a huge Cowboys fan. He went to Arkansas so he is friends with Jurrah.
The couple times I’ve met Daly I’ve given him hell for it. He even just came out with these pants like a month ago:
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
Cowboys fan or not, Daly is awesome.
He passes out in NC Hooters. I’d love to party with him.
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
He's kind of lame now, doesn't drink, sucks at golf, just drinks tea, plays his guitar and wears stupid pants
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
That's depressing.
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
I saw him at the '99 US Open, when Payne Stewart won.
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
Yea he shot like 85 on Sunday, haha
I was at that open also. I talked to him for little bit in Greenbrier casino this past August.
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
Random question: Do you know whatever happened to Rich Beam?
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
Probably is
It seems several people on that site actually have some pretty reliable sources within redskins park. Could be all bullshit, but it’s a better guess of what the Skins do than what I have.
mbedner - January 13, 2012
That works for us.
:-)
OakCityRam - January 13, 2012
Shanahan might be willing to give that up
But it’s gonna take a whole hell of a lot more.

I wonder with the new CBA rules
just how much learning our younger players can get in…sounds like they can’t do football related drills until mid April…I wonder if they’re allowed to have class room study prior to April as well…this will be an important offseason for us I think, whether through acquiring talent or making the talent we already have better
atark001 - January 13, 2012
I was listening to the radio this morning, and I apologize I forget who the guest was but...
It was a guy with close ties to the Manning family and he said Peyton would not go to any team anywhere close to Eli, especially not in the same division.
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
I would say look at San Francisco and how they lose this weekend.
If Smith stinks up the joint and they lose then i suspect we will hear lots of talk about Manning going to the Niners.
Jeff Bernard - January 13, 2012
My gut tells me we've seen the last of Peyton
There are some rumors he’d be interested in going to Arizona. What would be really cool, but obviously won’t happen b/c of Brees, is if the Saints needed a QB, Peyton could end his career in his “hometown”
Regarding San Fran, I really think Peyton prefers a controlled environment, so I don’t know if he’d be interested in going to an outdoors team, with a crappy field and facilities.
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
If i had to bet i would put money on retirement
You are probably right about the field conditions in San Francisco but to me that is the only team where Peyton could realistically come in and have a SuperBowl contender in the 2 years or so he has left in the league.
Jeff Bernard - January 13, 2012
Yea but Arizona could be just as enticing
You can run “your” offense (not Harbaughs)
You get Larry Fitzgerald
Ryan Williams will actually be there
It’s like Warner Super Bowl Run 2.0
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
My gut concurs with your gut
I think this is such a serious injury, I’m not certain he play again, and if he does, I have a feeling he’ll be quite fragile out there (that being said I would love to see him continue playing so long as he is healthy, he just brings so much to the game in general)
and when you said anywhere close to Eli, that makes me think he wouldn’t go to the Jets either, because its the same market
atark001 - January 13, 2012
My brother in law had one neck surgery and it literally took him months to recover, Peyton has had like 3 in 19 months, I have to agree with thinking retirement may be in the cards for Manning.
HTTR4LIFE - January 13, 2012
I fear
that he is such a competitive individual and loves the game so much that he’s going to try his hardest to return, and it may be to the detriment of his well being
atark001 - January 13, 2012
I completely agree
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
Peyton Manning is done
Do you have any idea how desperate you have to be to play around with stem cells?
Granted, money is not an issue for Peyton Manning but, stem cell therapy is an extremely risky procedure at this time.
Don’t ask me how I know, but I do.
When I saw that he had elected to do this, I knew that his neck was beyond repair… if he ever plays again it truly will be a small miracle
Skins Fan '77 - January 13, 2012
im not so sure...
if our kicker can play through 2 broken bones in his back. i think manning can come back after a succesful surgery
munson21502 - January 13, 2012
Well the first two were not successful
And the third is a total Hail Mary. He is still awaiting a successful surgery
Skins Fan '77 - January 13, 2012
oh i thought i read this last 1 went perfect
and he just sit out for the rest of the season to give it more time to heal
munson21502 - January 14, 2012
I hate rumors
Could Peyton Manning Be Headed to the Washington Redskins? http://bostinno.com/2012/01/13/could-peyton-manning-be-headed-to-the-washington-redskins/
HTTR4LIFE - January 13, 2012
haha yea my buddy sent me that this morning
Especially rumors from a Boston media outlet. How excited would you be to get two players that combine to be 73 years old!
Parks Smith - January 13, 2012
I think my head would explode if we somehow made a move like this…but Vinny would have jumped on it already!
HTTR4LIFE - January 13, 2012
Do people realize that Bruce Allen is our GM now?
iH8dallas - January 13, 2012
It seems to be fairly accepted
Bruce is there for cap wizardry, and Shanahan does the personnel bit…
Bullet Nation in Exile - January 13, 2012
However after two seasons the media (if we can call contemporary sports writers that) still associates the Redskins with this type of activity.
It’s irresponsible what sports “journalists” do.

Bullet Nation in Exile - January 13, 2012
you mean like trading for McNabb? or Resigning Brown for way over value?
Steve Shoup - January 13, 2012
every team swings and misses with free agents and trades
historically we just did so more than other teams and in a much more ridiculous way…while this regime has made its mistakes (although they could have been worse, say a first round pick for mcnabb, or a poorly structured/high guaranteed money contract for brown), we are no where near operating like we once were…I think his point is that the media types are still pigeon-holing us into pre-shanahan ways even though lately we are operating in a more traditional manner
atark001 - January 13, 2012
McNabb
deal should have never hapened. I often wonder were we would be as team if we kept Campbell and had traded down instead taking Williams that first season. I think ultimitely, if shanny has not turned the team around by 2013 and is fired, he will look back at the McNabb deal as his undoing.
The Brown deal I had supported, and it turned out to be a disaster-but at least there was a little bit of logic behind it. I wonder if we would have resigned him if their was no lock out.

All hope is lost.
CJHutch - January 13, 2012 via mobile
im telling ya we are ffing cursed !!!
watch. we will trade up for luck or rg3 and the other 1 we dont get will be the best qb for the next 10 years. or we will get matt flynn go 9-7 and miss the playoffs. skip drafting a qb. stick with flynn go 10-6 and miss playoffs again. then the 3rd year flynn gets killed in a car crash and we have to resign rex grossmen to a big money deal….
