The East-West Shrine game does not boast a hot bed of talent this year at the wide receiver position, but there are some prospects worth noting. It's very clear that the Redskins need some talent at the position, but where they get that talent remains a mystery. Last year, the Redskins drafted some size (Leonard Hankerson and Niles Paul), and some speed (Aldrick Robinson). Hankerson and Paul both saw time, while Robinson remained a developmental prospect. If the Redskins look to the later rounds of the 2012 NFL draft, they could find a potential diamond in the rough to compete with our current wide receivers.

B.J. Cunningham: 6' 1" 209 Michigan St. - Cunningham is a big, physical receiver in the mold of former MSU star Devin Thomas. He is at his best when asked to beat the jam at the line of scrimmage, and go over the middle for the tough catch. He will not burn you with his straight line speed, but he does possess quickness in and out of his breaks, and the ability to gain yards after the catch. Early reports from St. Petersburg have been mixed, with Cunningham making a spectacular catch on a play, then getting beaten out for a ball by a smaller corner on another. He is one prospect who could have a lot to gain or lose in practices this week.

Projected Draft Round - 4-6

Jarius Wright: 5' 10" 176 Arkansas - Wright is arguably the most noticeable name amongst all the receiver prospects in St. Petersburg this week. He was the favorite target of Tyler Wilson, catching 66 passes, for 1117 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior. wright has put his speed on display in Florida, with reports of him easily being the fastest player on the field. He is said to have good ability getting in and out of breaks, and gaining separation. The one knock on him is his slender frame, especially in his lower body. It will be interesting to see how he does working from the slot this week in practice against bigger, more physical corners.

It was reported the Redskins staff had one-on-one interviews with Wright already this week.

Projected Draft Round - 3-4

Devon Wylie: 5' 9" 182 Fresno State - Wylie led all Fresno State receivers with 56 receptions, for 716 yards and one TD. He caught the attention of Scouts Monday with a solid practice against a weak west secondary. He showed no fear going up against bigger corners and safeties, and won some key one-on-one battles, This weeks practice is huge for a prospect like Wylie, as it could mean the difference between going in the 5th round, to going undrafted.

Dale Moss: 6' 3" 220 South Dakota State - Moss is a two sport star at South Dakota State, contributing on both the gridiron and the hardcourt, as a shooting guard. He led the Jack Rabbits in receiving in 2011, totaling 61 receptions, 941 yards and 6 touchdowns. His jumping ability makes him a threat in one-on-one matchups. A good week in Florida could cause him to get a look this coming April.

Small School Stud:

Thomas Mayo: 6' 1" 207 Cal University of PA - Mayo has put together a tremendous career at division II powerhouse Cal University of PA. He went over the 4000 yard mark in receiving yardage for his career in 2011. He had an outstanding senior season that saw him grab 79 balls, for 1359 yards, and 16 touchdowns. This will be an important week for him in St. Petersburg, as he could get his first real taste of top college talent. He has a big frame, good speed, and naturally soft hands. Reports from Monday's practice raves about his RAC ability, and a brutal stiff arm he used more than once on the east defensive backs.
