Top 2012 free agents: A perfect fit at center? - Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
You don’t have to connect too many dots to put Myers in a Redskins uniform if they are in the market for a new center. He was drafted by Mike Shanahan in Denver and he played in Houston when Kyle Shanahan was an assistant. The only drawback is his age; Myers will be 31 before Week 2 of next season.

RT's 5: Haz, Kyle likely to fill in at Senior Bowl - Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
Rich Tandler's five thoughts possibly related to the Washington Redskins and other matters: 5. Although the Patriots are one of the best teams in the NFL, their path to the AFC title game has been highly suspect. They went the whole year, including the playoffs, without beating a team that finished with a winning record. Their defense ranked 31st in the NFL. They are a one-trick pony although that trick is pretty impressive with Brady throwing to Gronkowski and Hernandez...

Gaffney had top-10 hands in 2011

I'm really looking forward to the Senior Bowl...
I’m glad Steveo is posting on it, I’d love to hear Foles progress through the week
ptowny - January 23, 2012
Uh, its Steve Shoup now....this isn't 2011 anymore, get with the times, guy
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
But yea, I'm excited to hear about Foles as well
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
haha...
can we compromise to Steveo Shoup
ptowny - January 23, 2012
haha all of the above are valid
Steve Shoup - January 23, 2012
This Sean Taylor murder trial has been dragging on for……ev…..er. Lock him and throw away the key already.
Kevin Ewoldt - January 23, 2012
also make him find us a safety that had the skill set of sean taylor
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
+1
Sean Qtip Guilliams - January 23, 2012
Jabar Gaffney was a good find last year.
Too bad his buddy Rex won’t be on the roster in 2012.
iH8dallas - January 23, 2012
Bring Gaffney back. He's the kind of vet you need around a young team.
smutsboy1 - January 23, 2012
He's under contact...
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
ok then!
smutsboy1 - January 23, 2012
All of our receivers would have an equal % if they had three arms like Gaffney
Bryan Black - January 23, 2012 via Android app
It's a third leg....and I think it's why he doesn't have breakaway speed
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
I was probably
More critical of the trade for Gaffney than anyone, because I liked the potential Jarmon showed. To me, this just seemed like yet another stupid trading young for old Redskins move. But I admit when I’m wrong (makes it easier when it so rarely happens), and I was 100% wrong here. For the first time in 7(?) years, Moss was not our best receiver.
CJHutch - January 23, 2012
anybody else PISSED about this years outcome
we sucked
we sucked we sucked
our young guys showed potential and the only one to not get hurt was Kerrigan (thank Jesus) and some of the 5th+ rounders but i’m talking starters
were so short at wr
we don’t have a QB
London Fletcher might not be back and if he is he’s still old
Josh Wilson is our only good corner sometimes
The team needs swagger
Laron Landry might not be back
yeah but we can address that in the draft
QB, shit we’ll have to trade a fortune for the #2 best qb who is even questionable in his abilties as an NFL QB….screwed
OL, the best T in Kalil will be gone….sweet (#sarcasm)
WR the best WR will probably be gone and if not he’s still only 6’ 1"
MLB we could use that but it really wouldn’t be beneficial this year
CB we probably wont get Clairborne so that leaves us with another pot head…
S….no
so basically were screwed we should move our team to la and start a new expansion team in DC. Thankfully Dan Snyder will be in LA with the LA Tanskins and we can start a new team owned by Ted Leonsis that called the American Flags, our jersey will just be a flag draped over every player. And somehow he has luck to get the best players in the draft therefore we will be good in 5 years guaranteed.
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
Step away from the ledge
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
I've never been so down in my life about the Redskins
maybe this is why Dan Snyder brings in big name free agents, in hope they do something, giving him hope makes him happy, therefore preventing himself from ending it all. GET MATT FLYNN, no don’t why would I say that!? This has got to be the hardest year to be a Redskins fan ever.
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
I was far more discouraged during the final days of Zorn. The team completely quit at the end of that season, and prospects looked very dim for the future.
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
i thought the swinging gate x2
was a bright spot
prc805 - January 23, 2012
well there was hope in that season
we were getting a new coach
wheres the hope now.
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
We're getting a new QB. And we had a great 2011 draft. And we have some solid young players emerging. I think there is a lot of cause for hope for this team.
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
Yea
RGIII is going to look good in a Skins unform
prc805 - January 23, 2012
ew
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
what qb will we get
cause i don’t want a turd that we have to trade up for and give up next years 1. and i don’t want to waste a pick on a bum like Tannehill or foles in 1. I’d love Blackmon but he’s only 6’1 I’d like Claiborne but I don’t think we’ll get him even if he falls to us. The great players in round 1 will be gone or not of our needs.
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
With optimism and sound judgment like yours, where can we go wrong?
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
I've been optimistic for 20 years
time to be pessimistic, I mean look what happened to the Lions once their fans started boycotting games and hating their team they actually became good
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
Yea, hate and neglect is exactly what turned that franchise around
And lets not call them “good yet”. They had a decent season and lost in the wild card round, whoopie.
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
Kool-Aid
The Redskins went into last year’s draft with a measly 6 picks (no 3rd or 4ths) …and left with 12…all of whom made the active roster.
This year the Skins have 8 picks (every round pick + an extra 4th rounder). SUPER BOWL.
Kevin Ewoldt - January 23, 2012
I think I just had an epiphany
Now hear me out. The Redskins will not get RG3 unless we get a trade, the dolphins probably get matt flynn. Now lets say the Dolphins still want to move up to secure a top talent. We can exchange our first and get an extra second, meaning we can grab Michael Floyd or Ashlon Jeffries in the first, Tannehill and a OT in the 2nd or Reiff in the first, Tannehill, Toon in the second
i think this strategy would be great. We wouldn’t move down to far and we could still get QB OL WR in the first 2 rounds
jbh1190 - January 23, 2012
So you're saying Miami signs Flynn...then trades up to get RG3?
StephanHart - January 23, 2012
Linking to yourselves?
Really?
