That interview with Scott Campbell was quite interesting

I agree, evaluation really does boil down to how they perform on the field…seems the combine interviews aren’t much of a help

he also made a good point about not getting to low on a player in these games, as many of the players haven’t been playing football in over two months

though actually to the last point I think that is one thing that can be a strike against a player

if a player hasn’t maintained his football shape I think some teams question it. Now obviously Alabama players aren’t in the 2 month group, but Courtney Upshaw talked about how he was in full training mode 1 day after the NC, down in Florida, and on Sunday after the Senior Bowl he’s going out to Arizona to train until the Combine.

And when asked about how he felt about not getting a chance to celebrate the NC, he said that he’s okay with it, b/c this is his future job and wants to make the best possible case for himself.

that's a very good point as well

but I think there’s still a point to be made that training and actually playing the game are separate things…its definitely a strike if the player comes there and looks winded or out of shape, but I when it comes to actual playing (like technique and contact) I think we have to give them a little leeway

i think there are certain thing where maybe they get leeway

but honestly I think coaches want them to adapt and if they are messing up in one area, they want them to excel in another area.

Could you really ask for a better person and player than we have in Kerrigan?

What NFL rookies come out, work their ass off, play every single defensive snap, ball out, and then go back to school to finish up their degree before offseason workouts begin and they start it all over again?

Hunting down Kerrigan jerseys now

Already bought mine!

Wouldn't it be cool if Chris Samuels works his way up the coaching ranks and in 5-10 years becomes our head coach?

I know people have been clamoring for Russ Grimm, but to me Chris Samuels was the ultimate team player, and one that played with his head more than his body. It would be awesome to even get him as an offensive line coach. But I really think with a solid OC he could be a great head coach, he’d put the fear of God in everyone. Hes a black sloth (sorry CS love you)

Love Chris Samuels

But I’m still holding out hope for a Russ reunion one day. Chris was great, but not as great as the Head Hog. And not near as nasty.
Also, CS always made me think of the Klingons, not Sloth. Just my opinion though.
God I thought this day was the beginning of something special…

If i am not mistaken

Sloth was played by the one time (preseason only) Skin John Matuszak.
I think at times you can see sloth wearing a Raiders t-shirt.

that's an awesome fun fact of the day
Sloth is awesome

And him being a skin makes him even more awesome

ashame about Landry

So much talent there. Just never got it together.

man, the more I read abouto this dude, the more stoked I get on him coaching here

stand up guy

Plus, it gives the Redskins a hybrid option

When you look at what defenses are doing in the NFL several NE, Balt., NO etc… are starting to run 3-4 and 4-3 hybrid defenses. It’s great having a solid 3-4 guy and now a 4-3 guy….

him turning down the Minny job

leads me to believe he’ll be our DC in a couple years if not 2013. Hopefully he doesn’t implement a mandatory 4-3 switch. I’d love to see Kerrigan and Orakpo with their hand in the dirt more though run a 4-2-5 on pass plays

Raheem and Kyle

the future of the skins

Could be, but for now I'm keeping my faith in the well-tanned guy with the headphones with back to back SB rings on his fingers
fu#king right!

thats what i like to hear!!

Happy 20th Anniversary of our last ring.

I was in my parent’s basement in Germantown, MD with some buddies. it was a great day!

In the video Shanny said...

that Jarvis Jenkins looked like a "top ten pick " before he got hurt. I think he’s exaggerating but it’s hard not to get hyped about this guy…

I rarely believe anything Shanny says

But I don’t think he’s exaggerating. If so, not much anyway. Before JJ went down, he looked better than Kerrigan. Easily our best lineman.
This also could be Shanny’s way of justifying a trade up. Basically saying “we’ve got another 1st rounder coming in this year as well.”
