The new CBA sounds pretty silly with regards to the off-season

Players were already allowed to go off the grid until mandatory team activities resumed. Being forced NOT to use the team facilities sounds pretty ass backwards to me.

hmmm...

no footballs allowed at the facility? If they design a similar ball and put a tail on it, or add extra threads, and you call it something different….would that be acceptable?

How about allowing them to use a RUGBY ball?
It might strengthen Grossman's arm...

and make him Superman

I see my "Free Dre Kirkpatrick" campaign worked, his draft stock is back up!
How does one get cleared of possession charges if they were caught with it on their person?

Doesn’t make a ton of sense.

He thought it was oregano
ah... must have been cooking spaghetti that night and needed oregano

If I had a nickle for every time that happened to me…

"Nickel" or Nickel BAG?
What are the chances...

that the guy who took the heat for the deal, ends up driving a brand new car purchased by his new best friend come draft time

Car for a possession charge?

Sign me up.

Based off your book synopsis, I doubt possession charges scare you...
Those are no big deal. Community service and court costs.

In exchange for the new Acura NSX, I’d say that’s a victory.

#winning

I'll take the Chevy truck

Its gonna outlast the Apocalypse, with a bed full of Twinkies. Of course, Clint ALMOST made me wanna buy a Dodge.

How does a prosecutor get away with submitting evidence derived from a warrantless search?

Makes a lot less sense. Miscarriages of justice almost always favor the state/ prosecution…

OJ, anyone?

Not all miscarriages are in the Prosecution’s favor.

which explains the qualifier "almost always"
Depending on his history...

Most states will dismiss charges for simple possession. Pretty common. They may have a deal where he has to do 20 hours of community service, pay a fine and in return the charges are dropped. In NC its called the first offenders program and applies to non violent misdemeanors.

Just curious...

but why is Vince Lombardi in the Ring of Fame?

Because he was the coach here for a season before dying

And in a single season he restored a winning record and attitude after decades of losing. You should check out the videos of Sonny talking about Lombardi…very impressive.

Two seasons before, they were 7-7

.500 isn’t that terrible…it’s way before my time for sure, and it looks like we had some really bad teams, but I think the turnaround could just as easily be pegged to George Allen stepping in.

Not if you listen to the players of that time. Obv I wasnt alive then, but they all said Lombardi set the tone. Most of the team was out of shape as well.

Yeah, and

They were all convinced big things were on the horizon, until he died. Sonny always said that Lombardi was the best coach he ever had, even if it was only one year.

He was impressive.

It’s the first season I actually remember anything other than uniforms for.

The players BELIEVED in Him, trusted him. You could see it when he started chewing one out, and when a play or two later, he was slapping the player on the back. You didn’t want to disappoint the Bear, and you trusted that he valued what you did.

I was still too young to remember much more than impressions of the games, but we were better than our record, even. By the end, teams didn’t want to face us.

I have little doubt that Lombardi helped lay the attitude that got us into SB VII. And while we had to live through Austin (I have almost no memory of THAT season, though, except my Dad being angry at Austin) and Pardee.

we need to go back to the R in the helmet
yuck - no thanks
how can you not like that
Understood....

but he went 7-5-2. That is hardly Ring of Fame numbers. We might as well induct DHall in for his 4 interception game, or Brunell for throwing 22 consecutive completions

Like Kevin said, there was a tremendous losing culture here and Lombardi changed that.

He set the tone for the whole Allen era.

Well, maybe Shanahan can make the Ring too...

we definitely have a culture for losing…the future is promising

the jury is still out

so far Shanahan hasn’t had a winning season and to us die hards the future always looks promising even though it hasn’t turned out to be true in 20 years.

next year is the year....

that’s what I keep telling myself every year….eventually, it’ll be true

yeah, me too
were like crack heads

“this is the last hit I swear”….“1 more hit and i’m done”….“I’ve got kids now I can’t keep doing crack”

-Lawrence Taylor or Michael Irvin…doesn’t matter

at least hope is free

and we don’t have to break the bank to be fans

I'd put Santana and Brunell in together for the 4-minute Miracle in Dallas.
Glad to hear Timmy Hightower wants back in...

I think that says a lot that a free agent running back, that could easily sign on with the Packers or Patriots wants to stay in DC.

I'd like to see Tim come back.

He’s a hell of a blocker. He leveled a Panther this season.

I might put a $20 bet on the Skins winning the Superbowl at those odds.
I've got a toilet you can through that twenty down if you want...
Yes, and do it quick, before we grab

Manning or RG3. Odds will drop then. There are many reasons to think that a Super Bowl is possible, though certainly not likely. Among them, the parity in the NFL, the closeness of so many of our games (despite the QB situation and numerous injuries), obviously being competitive with the teams in our division (a pretty good division), the sudden rise of SF and Cincinnati, the likelihood of having a far better QB, another year for Shanahan to perfect his ZBS system, etc. I.e., I might put the odds at 40-1 or 50-1, but that would give us good pot odds.

didn't I hear it take a good 3 years to actually learn his ZBS?
All changes if we get Mannng

Peyton will come in and implement his own system.

Yes, he will have his own system, to an extent, but he would not even think of

changing the ZBS. Why would he? And if he did want to change things that much, he wouldn’t come here at all – Shanahan would just say, “sorry man, no can do”.

When was the last time anyone took a Redskin in the first couple rounds of a fantasy draft?

Portis in 08?

Ken does every year
I can't remember the last time I took a Skin early in fantasy...

I think Stephen Davis might have been the last for me

I took Helu as a late round flier

I cut him lose before he started paying dividends…

Cooley is the only Redskin I've drafted in the last decade

and that was only after the top couple of TEs were gone.

The Redskins are just too unpredictable or predictably awful.

I took Devin Thomas

I thought he was gonna be huge

i had hightower, helu torain, A. armstrong and gaffney

all on my team last year at 1 point i only drafted hightower though with a 5th or 6th pick.seemed like everytime ied start a rb shanny would bench them. or when i started gaffney he would only have 1 catch. had armstrong on the bench but never could pull the trigger to start him

Why?
I'm a redskin homer when it comes to fantasy
So in turn you're really bad at fantasy football
yes...except for the league that I had the computer draft all my picks

I won it all in that league.
