By my estimation, the Dolphins are in first place, the 49ers are out of the running, Cards are very unlikely, and the Redskins are a mixed bag.

But that wouldn’t be a horrible signing anyhow. He’s better than Stallworth. I doubt Saturday would be in the cards, but I wouldn’t mind an upgrade at C in the draft or FA. PManning’s center has to be smart more than anything. If I had to choose, I’d upgrade the G positions before C.

I could live
with bringing in Saturday and Wayne. Even though Saturday is 36(?), I think he would be an upgrade to Monty (who I would part ways with) and we could draft a C such as molk to be Saturday’s eventual replacement. Wayne is on the downside of his career as well, but I think he still has something left in the tank. He did catch 75 balls and had 900+ yds this year, and imo is slightly better than Moss or Gaffney at this point.

PFF also graded him as our best OL and the best C in the NFC East
I know the pro football focus need to be taken with a pinch of salt but it wouldn’t make much sense to let him go. He’s a solid starter and great backup option.

I can’t see Peyton choosing us with our horrible OL (yeah, I know, some folks think it’s not so bad but I disagree – we’ve got 1 solid OL, 3 career backups and a walking injury) plus I can’t see him wanting to take orders from Kyle.

in the lead as well. We are behind them, the colts and retirement, but we would be slightly ahead of the cards, chiefs, and browns. I dont think San Fran and the Jets will pursue.

I think Harbough likes Smith, and has invested time building up his confidence and fixing him. The Jets are stuck with Sanchez because of his contract. I believe he has a pretty hefty guaranteed contract (they are also stuck with Holmes’ contract). In addition, Sanchez is still young, so I think want to give him another year or two to try and fix him. I could see the Jets going after Weeden in the draft or signing a free agent such as Jason Campbell.
